Jeremy

I bought a 2005 lancer evolution from this Dealer about 2 months ago and have an experience to share that may protect someone in the future. After reading other reviews, i'm sure there are good cars that this dealer has sold, however, I am writing about a bad one for a car that they find themselves trying to flip around for profit. I had been working with Andrew with making a deal from an area about 4.5 hours away to come and get the car. Andrew was pretty straight forward and really responsive, shared a lot of good information and some problems i might have, however, he was very optimistic. I was told many good things about this car, how it appeared to not have been built or really been on a track in its lifetime(keep in mind, there was 65000 miles on this evo). 20 days after I bought the car the transfer case went out on the highway. Lucky for me, this place did not sell a warranty that kicked in right as you bought the car but rather had a void period of 30 days/1000 miles. I didn't make it to either of those thresholds before the car busted down on the side of the highway(so do not buy one of these warranties). I finally got it in to a really reputable place for working with these kinds of cars and they told me word for word, "I'm really disappointed that this place actually sold this car in the condition that it is in and I feel really bad for you as I know the guys who work there." Sort of a hard thing to hear after you just bought a car that you thought was a good one. Now that it has been on a lift for a while, it is clear to the eye without even trying to look that the car was built on a track for a high hp build. For whatever reason they didn't tell me this, i don't know.. Anyways. Apart from the lemon of a car this may be, $4000 later(for more than just a tcase) in the 2 months following it will hopefully be driving by the end of this week. As for my experience meeting with Andrew. We planned 2 weeks before i made a drive up that we would meet at 10am and do a deal. I texted them the night before letting them know i would be coming up and they said it was all good. Texted them in the morning letting them know my arrival and it seemed good. As i get to the place, no one is there. I call Andrew and ask where he is and he says yeah man, go get some food, it's going to be a little while, I'm still in Chicago taking care of some other stuff. 2 hours later... He shows up and has no keys to the shop. After i sat in the parking lot with my friend contemplating leaving, I know that we have all had our bad days and figured it might just be one of those days for him. Long story short, 30 minutes of him figuring something out he eventually got into the shop and i drove the car checked it out all seemed fine. Despite the car blowing up, it took them 20+ days to actually register the temp plate they put on my car, luckily, i did not get pulled over. Furthermore, that means I have yet to receive my plates 2 months after owning the car. For anyone considering buying a sports car from this place, I would definitely get it checked out by a reputable shop before doing so. As much as you want to believe that the car is perfect, just know, this is an example of one of them where it was sold as if it was and it wasn't.
